Landgoed Huize Glory stands on the highest dune in Bergen aan Zee, on the 13 hectare Russenduin. August Janssen had the villa built from 1916 as a summer house in Amsterdam School style, shaped like a castle. It later served as a recovery home and holiday home for children.

What can you expect at Huize Glory?

• History: Stained glass windows by Bogtman depict the Battle of Bergen of 1799. The turret, raised as a lookout during the occupation, can be visited between 12 noon and 2 pm.
• Rooms: Choose from rooms ranging from single to royal, some with original parquet floors and ceiling mouldings. There are also apartments for two to eight people with kitchen and terrace or balcony.
• Food and drink: The restaurant is known for its coffee and pastries and serves lunch. The library and sunroom look out over the sea.
• Ideal for: Ideal for families and lovers of history and nature.

Practical information

• Parking: Parking on the estate is free, there are charging points and bikes can be rented. The grounds have forest paths and a playground with a treehouse.
• Surroundings: Reception sells a dune pass for the Noordhollands Duinreservaat. The Zee Aquarium, Museum Kranenburgh and the Klimduin Schoorl also make great outings.
