The walking routes around Bergen aan Zee mostly follow unpaved dune paths, with the sea never far away.

• Bergen aan Zee wandelen: an 11.5 km route of which more than 70 percent runs along natural and unpaved paths through the dunes.
• Central part of the dune reserve: the De Duinheide visitor centre in Bergen is a good starting point for walks through the middle of the Noordhollands Duinreservaat.
• Dunes and beach combined: walk out through the dunes and back along the tideline, on the firm sand at low tide.
